Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a method of controlling who can interface with a tablet being used in a Retail shopping environment.
Background:
A problem with using a tablet or other electronic entry device in shopping is controlling access and operation of a shopping tablet when it is in touching distance of a child.
Description:
One method will be orientation of the tablet on the cart handle and what a user can interface with. Examples: Tablet faces shopper or faces child. Or could be child touches screen when it’s in shopper mode. Based on orientation and UI the screen / system will allow input from user only in specific areas or a user may need to press and hold to make a selection. The tablet camera could also be used to help see who is interfacing with UI. Is it a child or an adult (User A or User B)? In this way it would only accept input from the adult.
