Abstract:
This disclosure proposes a method to use Service Personnel smartphones as a means to diagnose system issues on POS products when there is no network connection.

Background:
A problem today is how to provide/diagnose problems for POS without network connection.  Currently and most likely a support engineer may need to access the local network to access the POS System or plug a USB Memory key to copy the necessary
files.

Description:
Today most of the people or personnel have smartphones that most likely have internet access so we can use the internet access from the phone to send the configuration/log files to the support center.  You could accomplish this by enabling a menu item or button on the application that starts the diagnostic process. That will obtain all the necessary files (configuration, logs, etc.) and will add the data into a set of QR barcodes. In this way the support personnel will only need to read the barcodes from the POS display and the smartphone will get all the information and send them to the support center.  The app at the smartphone can be enhanced doing an automatic analysis of the logs/config and create a recommendation to fix the problem.
